I find it the most difficult to make a layout for a song fanlisting, as I like to use images that are as closely related to the subject as possible. Since there usually aren't any or a lot of pictures of music video's around and screencaps aren't of the best quality it tends to get quite hard to make something that looks good and is closely related. Soon after I read the email from Sarah that I was chosen to adopt this fanlisting, I started thinking about the layout. I didn't have any ideas really so started capping the musicvideo. The video is quite dark, so it's hard to take clear screencaps. After some thinking I didn't know exactly what the layout would look like, but I thought it would be nice to have some sort of "boulevard" and that it would look good on the top in a vector-ish style. I started playing around in Photoshop and had so much fun coming up with this! I tried a lot of things, moved things around, added stuff, deleted other parts and you are now looking at the result of it all.
The most fun I had making this layout was to try and put parts of the song in the image/layout using mainly images.
In the image you see a (empty) street / (lonely) road / boulevard (of broken dreams).
Street + street sign saying empty = Empty Street
Road + nothing but buildings and nobody there (no lights on) = Lonely Road
Boulevard + crooked houses and a broken heart = Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Billy walking alone + the 1 pair of shoes on the right = I walk alone
