Creating/maintaining fanlistings

As you are here at the fanlisting for creating and maintaining fanlistings, you most likely are familiar with the concept of fanlistings. The creating/maintaining bit also speaks for itself ..right? What does one need for creating a fanlisting? What does one need for maintaining it? Most importantly: A lot of love and dedication (hence the title of the site). An html editor and ftp program aren't completely missable either; and where would our fanlistings be without Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro? These are just examples as there are many more programs people can use.

My Creating and Maintaining History
Back in 2002 I joined my first few fanlistings. In the beginning of 2003 I built my very first approved fanlisting. I started out on geocities and a few are still around (dead but alive); I like to believe my fanlisting building skills have improved as they quite erm.. sucked were different than they are now. I was so proud of it back then, and now.. lmao. The biggest change in my fanlisting history is the usage of scripts. When I started out I used 0 scripts; everything was added by hand; including all members. It was a lot of work but I loved adding every single member <3. After a while I found FanBase and was in heaven. Until my site got hacked that is. Shortly after that I moved abroad for a while so I unfortunately had to adopt and close all my fanlistings (as I had no internet access there). This was really hard as I cared for them for about 2 years. Once back home and found my routine again, I got sucked back into the addiction. This time the script I chose to use for adding members etc. was Enthusiast. I love it! It makes the maintaining so much easier and costs less time; don't get me wrong, I would add members by hand if there was no other way but adding members faster means there's more time for creating layouts, codes and add lots and lots of extra's. My fanlistings in the beginning were quite small - just the necessary pages and that was it. These days I love to add as much extra stuff as I can think of. I seriously won't even open a fanlisting anymore if I haven't added extra pages.

It's a true addiction but it's so much fun!
